About UPS & Our Culture

At UPS, every package car that rolls out of our package center at sunrise was loaded by a skilled Loader the night before. The Warehouse Loader role is one of the most physically demanding and most respected positions in our operation — the person who loads the car owns the driver's entire day. When you join us as a UPS Warehouse Loader, you are entering a culture built on physical excellence, unit pride, and the kind of logistics careers that last decades. These are UPS warehouse jobs with real union muscle behind them.

What Our Team Says (Employee Reviews)

"Loading package cars is an art form. Once you learn the load quality methods and you can walk your driver out clean every morning, there is a huge sense of pride in that. UPS invested in my training, the union protects my pay and benefits, and the Earn & Learn program is helping me finish my degree while I work. This is more than just a warehouse job." - Current Warehouse Loader, Memphis, TN.

Role Overview & Responsibilities

As a UPS Warehouse Loader, you are responsible for loading outbound package cars in precise delivery sequence order every shift. Your accuracy directly determines how efficiently the UPS driver can execute their route, making load quality a point of personal pride and operational importance.

• Sequence Loading: Load packages into assigned package cars in exact delivery stop order using the UPS load chart and DIAD-assisted sequencing system, ensuring the driver can access every parcel without rearranging the load.
• Load Quality Standards: Stack packages using UPS-approved load building methods — heavy on bottom, fragile on top, no package overhangs — to prevent damage and maintain vehicle weight distribution.
• Irreg Handling: Identify and properly position irregular-sized packages (irresgs), oversized items, and hazardous material packages per UPS compliance guidelines within the package car.

Benefits & Perks

UPS Warehouse Loaders receive Teamsters union wages with contractual annual progression raises, full medical, dental, and vision benefits, a defined-benefit pension plan, and access to the UPS Earn & Learn tuition assistance program. Paid personal days and weekly direct-deposit paychecks are included.
